Palliative Care

Palliative care nursing is a form of specialist supportive care for service users with the aim of helping them and their families cope with their condition and treatment.  It places a particular focus on preventing or relieving patient discomfort whilst offering invaluable support to families and friends.

Palliative care can be a vital support service offered at any stage of a patient’s condition. It can be appropriate for patients and their families prior to diagnosis, throughout treatment and continuing into recovery or death and bereavement.

Each circumstance requires its own palliative solution care plan to be devised. Often palliative care can be provided in a patient’s own home, at the hospital or sometimes within their own home.

In addition, there are specialist daycare facilities that can help meet the care needs of that individual.
